In our fourth match of the series, despite an inspired effort,
we were just short of the mark.
Bahrain won the toss and elected to bat. Sarfaraz scored 34 runs in 32 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Sohail scored 38 off 30 balls with 2 fours and one six. Haider’s 49 off 32 with 4 sixes was brilliant but Ahmer Nasir’s 44 off 19 was in another league – with one four and 4 sixes putting together a total of 179 for the loss of 5 wickets.
However, the Malaysian batsmen played an exceptional game with Virandeep Singh closing in on a century before getting out on a Rizwan Butt ball caught by Shahid Mehmood. He made 96 off 54 balls. Malaysia eventually scored 182/3 in 17.5 overs and won by 7 wickets with 13 balls left.
