It was a SPECTACULAR journey as the ICC CWC Trophy Tour made its stopover in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The tour was kicked off with a glittering gala night on the 12th of August in Bahrain with an unveiling at the Gulf Hotel in the presence of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) president His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The ceremony was also attended by Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Authority for Sports, Mr Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, Mr Mohammad Shahid, CEO, KHK Sports, President Brave CF, Mr Imran Khwajah, Deputy Chairman, of International Cricket Council, a number of distinguished diplomats, ambassadors and senior officials as well as Bahrain Cricket Federation members.
On this occasion, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his great happiness at the arrival of the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, pointing out that this tour represents a unique opportunity for cricket fans and enthusiasts. His Highness stressed that the arrival of the Cup in the Kingdom of Bahrain has become a gateway for millions of cricket fans to see the rich heritage and culture of Bahrain as well as its sporting prowess.
