It was like a moment from their cricketing dreams for the young talent at the Bahrain Cricket Federation who were overjoyed to meet former Pakistani Cricket legend Shahid Afridi.
The exclusive event was organised by the BCF to give the fledgling Bahrain Men’s, Women’s and Under -19 and U-16 cricketers an opportunity to hear the famous cricketer and learn from his experiences. One of the most historic moments of the event was when the world record-setter from Bahrain Women’s Team Deepika Rasangika presented a special memento from BCF to Shahid Afridi.
Deepika holds the world record for the highest individual score in women’s T20Is, which she set just last week when she scored 161 not out against Saudi Arabia in Oman.
The excitement at the event was palpable as budding cricketers listened intently to Afridi’s wise words of advice even as cameras recorded each moment of this interaction.
