DHL became champion of T20 corporate knockout of the Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad League organised by Bahrain Cricket Federation.
DHL Bahrain won the toss, batted first and scored 160/all out in 19.5 overs. Their openers gave them a very quick start scoring 57 runs in 4 overs. Imran 52 (35balls) and Abid 30(21balls). Star XI’s bowlers bowled a very decent line in the middle overs.
Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers as he took 3 wickets for only 10 runs in 4 overs. Amjad also took 3 wickets.
Chasing a decent total of 161 Star XI lost 3 quick wickets in the first 3 overs. Khalid 49 (29 balls) and Amjad 32 (31balls) attacked the opposition bowlers and scored 87 runs in 9 overs. But things changed when the spinners came to bowl.
Rahmatullah dismissed Khalid in his first over and then took Amjad’s wicket. Star XI lost all their wickets in 18.4 overs and DHL won the match by 20 runs and was crowned the champions.
Meherban was declared man of the match and Imran Anwar, the best batsman.
