1. Name and Status

The organisation shall be known as the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF).

The Bahrain Cricket Federation is the official governing body responsible for the administration, regulation, promotion and development of cricket within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Federation shall operate in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the requirements and regulations of the relevant national and international sporting authorities.

BCF represents Bahrain within the International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Bahrain has been an ICC member since 2001.

2. Vision

To establish Bahrain as a progressive and respected cricketing nation by creating world-class opportunities, infrastructure and development pathways that enable cricket to flourish from grassroots participation to international competition.

3. Mission

BCF shall work collaboratively with the General Sports Authority, Bahrain’s sporting community and relevant international cricket organisations to:

• Grow participation in cricket throughout the Kingdom;
• Develop men’s, women’s and youth cricket;
• Establish sustainable grassroots and school cricket programmes;
• Identify and develop talented players;
• Strengthen coaching, umpiring and cricket administration;
• Develop competitive domestic cricket;
• Support Bahrain’s national representative teams;
• Promote high-performance cricket;
• Establish appropriate cricket infrastructure and training facilities; and
• Represent the Kingdom of Bahrain with professionalism and distinction internationally.

These objectives reflect BCF’s published aim of making cricket one of Bahrain’s key sporting activities and developing new generations of cricket participants.

4. Objectives of the Federation

The principal objectives of BCF shall be to govern and develop cricket in Bahrain fairly, transparently and sustainably.

The Federation shall organise and sanction cricket competitions; establish national development pathways; select and administer national teams; promote women’s and youth participation; encourage community cricket; develop qualified coaches, officials and administrators; protect player welfare; uphold sporting integrity; and strengthen Bahrain’s position within international cricket.

5. Governance

The Federation shall be governed by its duly constituted Board, which may include the:

The Board shall be responsible for the strategic direction, governance and administration of the Federation.

The Federation may establish committees and advisory bodies as required to support its objectives.

6. Powers and Responsibilities

The Federation shall have authority, subject to applicable law and governing-body requirements, to regulate organised cricket under its jurisdiction; establish competition rules; recognise clubs, academies and affiliated cricket bodies; establish eligibility and registration requirements; appoint committees; select national teams; appoint coaches and officials; undertake commercial partnerships; and implement disciplinary procedures.

7. Membership and Affiliation

BCF may establish categories of membership or affiliation for cricket clubs, teams, academies, players, coaches, officials and other recognised stakeholders.

Affiliated participants shall comply with the Constitution, regulations, policies, codes and lawful decisions of the Federation.

8. National Teams

BCF shall have responsibility for Bahrain’s recognised national cricket teams.

Selection shall be undertaken through transparent sporting criteria including eligibility, performance, fitness, conduct, team requirements and applicable ICC/ACC regulations.

Representing Bahrain shall be regarded as both an honour and a responsibility.

9. Committees

The Board may establish standing or temporary committees where required, including committees covering:

Cricket Development; National Team Selection; Women’s Cricket; Youth and Grassroots Cricket; High Performance; Finance and Audit; Disciplinary Matters; Safeguarding; Medical and Player Welfare; Competitions; and Governance.

10. Integrity and Ethics

BCF shall uphold the principles of integrity, fairness, transparency and good governance.

All persons participating in cricket under the Federation shall comply with applicable rules concerning anti-corruption, anti-doping, safeguarding, discrimination, harassment, disciplinary conduct and competition integrity.

11. Financial Governance

The Federation shall maintain appropriate financial records and controls.

Federation funds shall be used solely to advance its legitimate sporting and organisational objectives.

Budgets, expenditure, sponsorship arrangements and financial reporting shall be subject to appropriate authorisation and oversight.

12. Amendments

Amendments to this Constitution may only be made through the formal approval process established by BCF and, where applicable, approval or acknowledgement by the relevant regulatory or sporting authorities.

13. Dissolution

Any dissolution of the Bahrain Cricket Federation shall be conducted in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain and applicable requirements of the relevant sporting authorities.
