Bahrain Secure Dominant Eight-Wicket Victory Over Myanmar in ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier
Bahrain delivered a commanding performance against Myanmar in Match 9 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia Sub-Regional Qualifier A 2026, securing an impressive eight-wicket victory at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur.
Myanmar, batting first, struggled to build momentum against Bahrain’s disciplined bowling attack. The Bahrain bowlers maintained consistent pressure, restricted scoring opportunities and picked up wickets at crucial stages of the innings.

Leading the bowling effort was Abdul Majid, who produced an outstanding spell, claiming five wickets for just 25 runs. His performance played a decisive role in dismantling Myanmar’s batting lineup and earned him the Player of the Match award.
Despite their efforts to establish partnerships, Myanmar were restricted to 70/9 in 20 overs, leaving Bahrain with a target of just 71 runs.
Bahrain approached the chase with confidence and composure, ensuring that Myanmar had little opportunity to regain control of the contest. The batters maintained a steady scoring rate, rotated the strike effectively and capitalised on loose deliveries to keep the scoreboard moving.

The chase was completed comfortably as Bahrain reached 73/2 in just 11.2 overs, sealing victory by eight wickets with an impressive 52 balls remaining.
The match highlighted Bahrain’s strength in both departments. The bowling attack laid the foundation with a disciplined performance, while the batting unit completed the job with efficiency and authority.
From Abdul Majid’s exceptional five-wicket haul to the composed run chase, Bahrain demonstrated excellent teamwork and match awareness throughout the contest.

The eight-wicket victory marked another convincing performance for Bahrain in the tournament, with the team controlling the match from the opening innings to the winning runs.
